The International Center of Gastronomic Culture of Dénia will project the gastronomic image of the Region

The International Center of Gastronomic Culture of the Mediterranean will be an instrumental space for the projection and protection of our gastronomic culture.

Based in the CdT of Dénia, it was born with the vocation of "territorial governance and to cover all gastronomic projects that are aligned with the values ​​and objectives of the new gastronomic strategy of the Consell". This was stated by the Regional Secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, during the presentation of the project in FITUR.

This center was born with the vocation of recognizing and protecting the roots of our product, projecting our gastronomic image, promoting our cultural identity, promoting innovation in the sector, spreading delicious gastronomy and guaranteeing governance and gastrodiplomacy.

In this sense, the head of Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana added that "the new global concept of gastronomy that we want to promote integrates the Mediterranean landscape, the agro-food and native product, as well as the culture and heritage around the kitchen".

Colomer pointed out that other of the initiatives on which the Valencian Tourism Agency is working through this new center is the collaboration with Dénia, a creative city of UNESCO and a research project with the support of the universities.

Gastronomic Decalogue of the Comunitat Valenciana

Within the first actions promoted by the International Center of Gastronomic Culture of the Mediterranean is the elaboration of the Gastronomic Decalogue of the Valencian Community, a manifesto with the agents of the field of gastronomy of the Region to promote the local and singular product.

This decalogue, read in part by gastronomic journalist Paco Alonso, encourages the commitment of all the key players in the gastronomy, territory and product system in favor of promoting a "Hospital land that has one of the main attributes in gastronomy that helps us understand ourselves as a people, and enjoy ourselves as a destination"added Colomer.

The International Center of Gastronomic Culture of the Mediterranean was presented this Thursday in Fitur, during the celebration of the Valencian Community Day.
