CEDMA recalls that the cancellation of the Transitory Urban Regulations will leave Dénia without planning

May 13 from 2021 - 15: 07

Representatives of the Territory and Sustainability Commission of the Cercle Empresarial de la Marina Alta They held meetings yesterday both in the General Directorate of Urbanism and in the Dénia town hall in order to delve into the processing of the General Structural Plan of the city. The Environmental and Territorial Strategic Declaration, DATE, conditional and not definitive, opens too many questions on a key issue for the city, "which urgently needs to equip itself with urban planning with guarantees".

"We want the approval of a General Plan that is sustained over time," said yesterday the president of CEDMA, Benito Mestre. In both meetings, Mestre recalled that Dénia "needs an appropriate legal framework that provides stability, covers the needs of the city and attracts investment."

At this time, given that the City Council itself filed an appeal against the NUT (Transitory Urban Regulations) of the Ministry, "at any time we will be left with nothing again, back to the chaos of article 66.4 and the studies of landscape integration". In addition, according to the meetings held yesterday in this regard, "there will be no NUT 2021, or NUT 2022, because the Department is not for that work."

Among the biggest doubts of the business community regarding the DATE, is the flooding of many sectors of Dénia (for which the partial declaration of a floodable municipality was again insisted), the Sanitation Plan and the possibility that this PGE comes loaded with patrimonial responsibilities attending to previous urban agreements that mortgage the future of the city.

"We are the first interested in the General Plan going forward, because we need a stable legal framework and a document that will not overthrow it again in court," said Mestre.

What you have to stop building are the apartments and tourist farms.
It is urgent, in the little space available, construction of sustainable and PUBLIC housing.
That's good, they have turned Denia into a brick paradise and cheap apartment tourism.
We need more protection of our already scarce natural environment, and sustainability of the municipality.
Let's hope that the socialist government will not allow the abuses that we have witnessed over the past decades.
That is what they have promised in their electoral program, right?
