Good news: Dénia registers its best contagion data of the last 2 months

February 16 from 2021 - 11: 11

Sanitat has updated the coronavirus data by municipality after adding the cases registered during the past weekend through PCR tests. With this new update the trend of the pandemic in Dénia is confirmed and the Marina Alta, which is leaving the catastrophic third wave of COVID-19 behind day by day.

Since last Friday, the Dénia health department, on which the entire Marina Alta depends, has only registered 113 new infections. There was not such a low figure since last December 15, so it is more than hopeful news. However, 632 cases are still active out of the total of 9.340 recorded since March, so the accumulated incidence is 368 infections per 100.000 inhabitants, each day lower.

However, the death toll remains unacceptably high, with 8 new positive deaths from coronavirus, one of them from Dénia.

The capital of the Marina Alta follows the same trend as the region, seeing its number of new infections plummet. Only 31 have been added in this update, also a record that had not been given since last December 15. Of course, 168 cases are still active, so the incidence stands at 398,43. In total, there have been 2.960 registered cases since the pandemic began in the city.
