04 2022 April - 16: 49

The Minister of Justice, Interior and Public Administration, Gabriela Bravo, has announced the expansion of the Dénia Palace of Justice, for which an annex of approximately 3.400 square meters will be built on a 870-meter plot adjacent to the current building. The planned investment will be around 9 million euros and will allow, in the future, to expand the judicial plant of the capital of the Marina Alta.

This has been detailed by the minister in the meeting that, this Monday, she has held with the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the dean of the judges, María Luisa Fayos, and representatives of the Lawyers and the Procurement of the judicial district.

During the meeting, Bravo thanked the first Dianense councilor for the willingness and collaboration of the City Council, which has given the site of Plaza de Jaume I with Nou d'Octubre street where the expansion will take place and which was received by the Ministry of Finance last Friday.

"It is expected that the work -as Gabriela Bravo has explained- we can start it in the spring of 2023 and the execution period of this work would be approximately a year and a half" and, with it "the Palace of Justice will have twice the space".

In addition, the councilor has pointed out that "we are not only going to expand, but also once this work is finished, the new reorganization of the space will also be addressed, which right now is the one destined for the courts, in order to integrate it everything and that the final result is a single building and that it has all the resources".

Meanwhile, the councilor has explained that all the attention to the victims, plus the Court of Violence against Women, will move to the premises of the old Dénia toy library that the City Council has given for this purpose.

In this sense, Gabriela Bravo has pointed out that the works to adapt this space "predictably will begin in May and will be completed in September" to locate there, in addition to the judicial body, "the Comprehensive Forensic Assessment Unit and a Gesell Chamber. Dénia will also have with a psychosocial team to be able to work with all the family courts and at the same time the Crime Victims Assistance Office will also be located in this headquarters".

On the other hand, the councilor has also lamented that, almost three months after the start-up of the Civil Court 6 of Dénia, "it is still not provided with a judge or a lawyer for administration, justice. The Generalitat has acted in time and form on the date that was foreseen in the decree of the Ministry".

"We put all the means, both the infrastructure and the personnel", but "three months later, the Ministry of Justice and the Council, which are the ones who have to decide and put in place the necessary mechanisms so that that position as judge and LAJ "They haven't filled the seats yet. "So we are going to get in touch with both the Ministry and the Council to urgently request coverage for these places," he concluded.
