Barceló proposes to celebrate the Fallas this September although Dénia will wait to see how the vaccination rhythm advances

May 10 from 2021 - 10: 35

September 2021 is the date proposed by Sanitat to celebrate the festivities of the Fallas that have been postponed since March of last year. This is what the councilor, Ana Barceló, has made known to the representatives of the fallero world with whom she has been having a series of meetings for this purpose in recent days.

Today there will be a new meeting between the Ministry of Health and the fallero sector to decide the future of the festivities. Apparently, everything indicates that Barceló is going to propose to plant the monuments from September 1.

Now, it will not be the Fallas week that we know, but the truth is that it will be very similar. The health crisis has forced the festivities to be readjusted to adapt each act to the current context. Yes there will be plantà, cremà, prizes, pyrotechnics, offering and activities in the street, but the latter will be studied which ones to do and in what way.

The news seems to be that it has not been entirely to the liking of the commissions or the city council of the capital, who hoped to be able to hold them in July given that conditions say they would be more favorable. However, Barceló has indicated to them that delaying them for a month and a half supposes an extra month and a half of vaccination, and at the rate that the process is going, it would be a great change of landscape.

Despite these indications from the council, the Fallas will not be held in a compulsory way in September, but each municipality will be free to choose the dates from that month. This will mean that they will not be held at the same time in each locality, as each consistory will have to see the most appropriate situation.

In the case of Dénia, the Local Board still has not wanted to pronounce on the date since they are in the process of electing the new presidency. Once the new board is formalized "and depending on the vaccination rate, possible scenarios will be raised for this year," says the Board.
