Barceló: "The vaccination process for the entire population of the Valencian Community is proceeding at a good pace and in an agile way"

The Department of Universal Health and Public Health has opened this Monday the large vaccination centers of the three provinces, as well as the 18 specific vaccination points and the offices of the 48 Basic Health Zones of the different Health Departments to vaccinate the Valencian population against the coronavirus.

This first day of vaccination to the entire Valencian population has passed with total normality in all points and large vaccination spaces. In fact, the goal is for 185.000 doses to be administered throughout this week.

According to the Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, "the vaccination process for the entire population of the Valencian Community is proceeding at a good pace and in an agile way", and has pointed out that "today is a great day for Valencian society, a historic day, because we continue to advance in immunization against the coronavirus and, together, we will be able to put an end to this pandemic. "

Barceló also wanted to show its gratitude to the professionals and staff that are part of the vaccination teams "because from the beginning they have shown great professionalism, and they are working incessantly so that the entire vaccination process runs smoothly. agile and efficient ".

The forecast is that more than 30.000 doses will be administered this week in the four major vaccination points that have started their activity this Monday: 11.400 in the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències de València; 7.100 in the City of Light in Alicante; 6.700 at the Alicante Fair Institution in Elche; and 4.900 in the Auditori and Palau de Congressos de Castelló.

In total, this week 185.000 doses will be administered throughout all authorized health centers and points. Specifically, 68.000 are first doses for people aged 70 to 79, an age segment that will also receive 55.000 second doses. In addition, 16.000 second-dose vaccines will be administered to people over 80 years of age and highly dependent, 40.000 to the group between 60 and 65 years and 6.000 to other groups.
