Baleària operates four daily connections from the Peninsula to the Balearic Islands only for goods starting today

19 March 2020 - 11: 35

Baleària transports only goods on its routes from the Peninsula to the Balearic Islands as of today, due to the restriction on passenger traffic in connections to the Balearic Islands decreed by the Government of Spain to face the health alert caused by the Covid- 19. There are four daily ferry connections, two from Barcelona and two from Valencia. The inter-island routes are also maintained only for cargo: the Palma-Ibiza connection is daily, while Alcúdia-Ciutadella will be on alternate days. Finally, on the Ibiza-Formentera route, in addition to three daily services for the transport of goods, three connections are established for daily passengers, which Baleària takes place on specific days, with frequencies established by the authorities.

Baleària has prepared a contingency plan to guarantee the transport of goods to the Balearic Islands and allow the islands to receive supplies of essential products. The company appreciates the efforts of the Fleet staff, port operations, ticket offices and other departments involved who continue to work to ensure the daily arrival of goods to the Balearic Islands.

It should also be noted that the shipping companies are at the service of the Balearic community for urgent movements of people and health units and other emergencies, always with the authorization of the government authorities.
