Javier Cervera, Head of Energy Transition of Baleària, has been chosen to attend the negotiation plenaries of the 26th edition as an Observer Member of the United Nations. "The firm bet of Baleària for sustainability is one of the hallmarks of our business model and it is a decision that responds to criteria of social responsibility and economic profitability ”, explained Cervera.

The shipping company will be part of the team of representatives of the foundation in the events parallel to the convention. In these forums, country delegates meet for formal negotiations and informal consultations. In the same way, they can also participate in meetings with other delegations to clarify their position and interests when the objective is to reach an agreement or overcome a deadlock in the negotiations.

The current conference is being held under the theme “Uniting the world to tackle climate change”. In this way, representatives of 200 governments will gather to address the urgency and opportunities to move towards a carbon neutral economy, as well as the power of international cooperation to face the most complex challenges.

Baleària's environmental commitment

Baleària has strengthened its environmental commitment by betting on the use of natural gas and, with the required investment, it will have a fleet of up to 9 new generation vessels, including new constructions and remotorizations. In this way, it unites its two main strategic axes: energy efficiency and decarbonisation (thanks to the use of more eco-efficient fuels) and digitalization (smart ships).

On the other hand, it has also immersed itself in transversal projects such as the Green and Connected Ports of the European Union, through which it has installed sensors and measurement systems in some of the ships to monitor and manage fuel use and emissions in time. real.

Yes, whatever they want, but the impact produced by their sailing boats cannot stop it as well as the mass tourism they promote. All very nice.
