Baleària opens its fourth international line, which will connect the Moroccan city of Nador with Almería

08 June 2017 - 06: 30

The next 20 of June begins a new stage for the shipping company Baleària. That day will launch its fourth international line, which on this occasion will connect the city of Nador (in Morocco) with the port of Almeria.

For this line, the shipping company based in Denia will make two daily departures from both ports (except Tuesdays and Thursdays, which will only make one). The vessel in charge of making the connection will be the ferry Nissos Chios, Which will cover the journey in four hours.

As explained by the president of the company, Adolfo Utor, During the presentation of this ship in the port of Beni Ensar, the objective of the line between Almería and Nador is "serve the citizens of Morocco and its visitors, as well as contribute to the economic and social development of the area".

But the involvement with Morocco goes beyond this new line. It is worth remembering that it has been underway for several years, through the Fundació Baleària, different programs of social and humanitarian content in the north of the country. Further, Baleària bet local staff in the operation of these lines both on land and in the fleet. Thus, in 2016, almost 14% of the employees of the shipping company were of foreign origin, of which half were from Morocco.

With this new line, Baleària continues its internationalization process that began precisely in Morocco in 2003, when it started the connections between Algeciras and Tangier, and will be Baleària's third international route in North Africa, when a year has just passed since That began to operate between Mostaganem (Algeria) and València.
