Vicent Grimalt, Mayor of Dénia, has been clear in its manifestations, "We will exhaust all possible avenues to prevent thousands of residents of the Rotates, Marines and Montgó lose essential services such as the delivery of ordinary mail to their homes".
The Dianense city council communicated to the residents' associations of Les Rotes, Montgó and Marines that they will request a revision of the resolution of the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) in which it declares these areas as special environment for the purposes of delivering ordinary mail at the request of the State Society of Post and Telegraphs. The city council will provide the data based on the forecasts of the new General Plan that is in the drafting phase.
The resolution of the CNMC states that these areas the delivery of ordinary postal items must be done by installing pluridomiciliary concentrated boxes. Delivery will take place every working day and at least five days a week. Certified shipments must continue to be delivered at home.
