So will the second version that will be exposed to the public Structural General Plan

February 27 from 2015 - 11: 37

A total of 220 arguments are those received during the public exhibition General Structural Plan which ended last February 18. These claims, together with the conclusions drawn from participatory workshops organized by the Local Agenda 21 have provided some new features to the document for its second exposure to the public.

Structural work team General Plan

The drafters of the document and the coordinators of the workshops explained yesterday the amendments to be included in the new document that will be presented to the public in the second half of March for about a month to a vote by the full before 15 of April. Final approval of the PGE will be borne by the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and the Environment.

Vicent Gregori architect was commissioned to explain the main points of the new General Plan and Structural additions arising from the participatory process.

Edge round and intermodal station

The entrances to the city have been the most discussed point in the workshops, where attendees agreed that it does not become a highway within the city, but is a means of soft traffic and integrated into the environment.

The workshops have also proposed that the main land use in this new growth is tertiary and commercial, to the detriment of the residential. Therefore, the editors have had to seek alternatives to absorb population growth forecast by introducing a new floor sector development in the old sector B-4 (Bisserot).

This change has allowed the reservation of land for the creation of the new intermodal station at the height of the stopping of the hospital, which will allow deleting the track of railroad tracks running through the town.

Parking lots

This second version of the General Structural Plan also includes three large parking areas that will allow the urban area to be pedestrianized in the future: One would be located next to the Bosc de Diana, for vehicles coming from the Montgó and Les Rotes; another around the cemetery and the new intermodal station, for traffic coming from the region and a third at the beginning of the Ronda Norte, for vehicles coming from Marines.

Les Marines road becomes a boulevard

To avoid the traffic load on the road to Les Marines, those attending the workshops have proposed that traffic is diverted by the Camí de Gandía via transverse roads linking the two sections, allowing reconvert the road to Les Marines in a boulevard.
