Aqualia, in collaboration with the French company Ceram HydDevelops in Brackish Water Desalination Station of Racons the European project cleanwater for the validation and marketing of a new disinfection technology based water disinfectants generation in situ by an electrochemical system.

Start-up EDAS Racons

This new system has two main objectives: to check the technical and economic feasibility of the process, which will replace traditional disinfection systems, prevent transport, storage and handling of hazardous chemicals; and evaluating the decrease production chlorination by-products, obtaining a high-quality drinking water with less environmental impact.

Desalination Brackish water station of Racons captures Racons river water to supply drinking water to the city of Denia. Due to the characteristics of the treated water pretreatment necessary by adding chlorine, prior to subjecting the desalting process. The objective is to determine the chlorine consumption and cost using the conventional system and the proposed alternative using the Cleanwater generation system disinfectants ,.

The project cleanwaterIt budgeted at 1,66 million euros, is part of the European aid program ECO-INNOVATION (2014-2017) and represents an ambitious attempt to excel in the world of water disinfection using accessible, safe and less harmful compounds for the environment, fulfilling the commitment of the company for the quality of service and environmental awareness.
