24 June 2021 - 13: 36

The Council of Ministers has approved this Thursday, June 24, the royal decree-law that puts an end to the mandatory use of a mask abroad. In this way, a year later, the PPE that has symbolized the fight against the coronavirus will be dispensed with. Now, with important exceptions to respect.

More than 400 days have passed since it was decided to mandate the use of the mask throughout the state. Now, with more than positive incidence data and being the European country with the highest number of immunized thanks to vaccination, the time has come to show the world a smile again.

From next Saturday, June 26, the mask will no longer be required abroad. However, in any interior space it will continue to be mandatory, so it should always be on hand to enter any room. In addition, in public transport the obligation will be maintained, which will not happen in private transport between cohabitants.

The new regulations, however, make it clear that the mask can only be dispensed with when the interpersonal distance of 1,5 meters is ensured. That is, not everything goes since the coronavirus is still there. In this way, it will continue to be mandatory in outdoor events and in any other act that invites the crowd.
