With the blackout of the Olympic flame, the 'XII Mini Jocs Olímpicos de la Marina Alta'

The "XII Mini Olympic Games of the Marina Alta", Are already history after extinguishing the Olympic flame of the pebetero. There were three intense days of competition in the facilities of the municipal sports center of Denia. After the opening ceremony on Friday, a packed Saturday came, teams and athletes individually searched for their success or enter the finals that were played on Sunday.

A great atmosphere surrounded all the competitions since around 7.000 people were during the weekend witnessed the different competitions. The heat also did not want to miss the sports games and it showed a sun of justice, every day.

On Sunday they had the finals of some collective sports such as football with victory of the team of Dénia but with much emotion since it was solved by penalties when drawing before Teulada (1-1). Easier was the final of women's basketball with victory of the team of Denia on Calpe (43-38). In boys, the Denia players were the winners Benissa being second, (30-43).

In handball the champion team was that of Benissa, while in volleyball was the whole of Denia the winner. In soccer hall the champion team was the set of Calpe, while in Pilota Valenciana the best were those of Beniarbeig. There were also some competitions of athletics, which closed with a cross where the boys and girls of Dénia were the clear dominators.

With all the competitions finished, the medal was awarded. An act that began with the delivery of the medals to all the winners. With all the medalists and authorities on the athletics track, the Olympic flag was carried by the volunteers.

Finally the coordinator of sports of Pedreguer, Maria, was in charge to extinguish the flame of the pebetero. That was the end of the "XII Mini Olympic Jocs of the Marina Alta", Now the balance will come from the Consorci Esportiu Marina Alta and will begin to prepare the next games that will arrive in two years.
