The Dianense, Andrea Fernández He occupied the fourth place in the overall classification in the Duathlon Águilar Carnivals in its edition XXI.

The test was held on a cold morning in the vicinity of the Aguilas Auditorium, next to the sea and with a high level of national and international participation. This was a test that can give direct classification for the elite Duathlon Spanish championship.
 
The circuit had a distance of 5 km., From a running race that was held next to the promenade, then it gave way to the cycling segment whose 20-kilometer route started from the Auditorio de Águilas in a circuit with a long and continuous slope first uphill and then downhill to which the participants had to go three laps to finally and after leaving the bike to finish with a 2.5 km foot race, until they reached the finish line next to the Auditorium.
 
The race was dominated from start to finish by triathlete Emma Pallant, British champion and member of the team in the world triathlon series. Dianense Andrea Fernández in a good moment of form managed to finish the first segment of the running race in fifth position, later during the 20 km of the cycling segment she managed to regain two positions and cut a few seconds with the head of the race.

After the transition, she left her bike and went to the last segment of the race in third position, which she held for a good part, was finally surpassed by the Sub23 triathlete, Marina Martínez, who achieved a slight advantage over Andrea, relegating her to fourth position and from this form took away the podium position.

Andrea Fernández is very happy with her result as she still plays in the cadet category, she did a great race in her first individual Duathlon of the season, finished the race with only 13 seconds of third place and 1'58'' of the incontestable winner International Emma Pallant.
 
Soon, the Dianense, who is 16 years old and with great enthusiasm, is scheduled to debut in the Junior Triathlon European Cup to be held in the Portuguese town of Quarteira on March 21.
