Ana Belén Quintanar, new president of the Red Cross Dénia: "Help hook"

November 21 from 2015 - 00: 05

After only four months in office he has a very clear objective: to make the Local Assembly of Red Cross Dénia very big. Despite her presentation in society this week in Alicante, Ana Belén Quintanar has been the new president of the Red Cross Denia since August, four intense months of work and projects together with the new local board of directors.

His relationship with the Red Cross goes through his daughter, a volunteer for two years of the Red Cross Youth. But his vocation to help led him to move to create a non-profit association to do a job similar to that carried out by the Red Cross, but at a lower level. Until he received the proposal to preside over the Local Assembly of Dénia and accepted immediately.

Upon reaching Red Cross he was found "With great people, projects to start working on and users satisfied with the workshops and activities, a very nice panorama", tells us an excited Ana Belén in the offices of the Dénia assembly.

Objective: to make the Red Cross Dénia "very big"

During these first months in office, Ana Belén is very clear that her intention is to reach as many users as possible throughout the region. Two actions are necessary for them: the opening of Local Action Points around the Marina Alta and recruit more volunteers.

Currently, the local assembly of Red Cross Dénia is formed by Dénia and other 16 adhered populations, but there are no actions of any kind taking place there. That is why the intention of the new board of directors is to open local Action Points in the furthest areas of the capital of the region from which to serve the users of inland populations. From there, and after conducting a study of the needs at the social level of each area, the effort will focus on making an appeal to volunteers to carry out the necessary actions.

The other hot spot is precisely them, the volunteers. Although today the assembly has some 180 volunteers, many more are needed to reach more users. And it is that, no matter how little time each person can devote to the organization, all help is welcome.

Christmas and employment, campaigns that now focus their efforts

After the season of beaches, Red Cross Dénia is now concentrating on two important campaigns. On the one hand, as is being done at the national level, the commitment to employment: teaching to write resumes, to make presentations or to advise on the behavior to have during a job interview. For this, they have the support of specialized technicians and even a psychological cabinet, and for a few months they have also been part of the Employment Bureau of the Dénia City Council along with other organizations.

With regards to Christmas, from the local organization they are about to launch the campaign Educational Toy, which aims to donate a new toy that is not warlike or sexist to the boys and girls users. For some years, Cruz Roja has been betting on new toys, and for this campaign they have the collaboration of the Juguetilandia store.

Users who wish may collaborate by contributing the toys directly to the Assembly, donating money or informing themselves at the toy store. In addition, this year there will be two deliveries, one at Christmas and another at Reyes.

A new stage full of illusion

Ana Belén Quintanar now begins a new stage as president of the Local Assembly of the Red Cross Dénia in which the illusion will lead her to move the projects that she and her team have in mind.

From her new position as president, she takes the opportunity to encourage participation in the organization in some way, "Because the only way to get to know the Red Cross is to participate", and adds that "help hook".

A greeting from the saddlebags I am volunteering with the firefighters of Denia and Civil Contribution, even though you are not always with you.
