Students from several schools share activities with users of Condenados al Curzon thanks to an endearing program

November 06 from 2017 - 15: 46

The inclusion in society of people with disabilities must start at school. With this objective, to coexist with normality with the group of disabled people, the Association Condemned to Curb has launched, one more year and with great success, the program Som Iguals, Som Diferents.

Thanks to this proposal, directed by people with disabilities, students from various schools in the region can learn about the reality of the disability world in a fun and entertaining way. The contents of this project are structured in four blocks: an initiation in adapted sports where the students of the schools carry out adapted sports practice (Basketball and wheelchair soccer, Athletics, Bowling, Boccia, Kin Ball, Jenga and adapted cycling); awareness talks; dissemination of the documentaries edited by the Association that show the reality and the day to day of the collective, and the presentation of the book The colors of Pasqual, written by Pascual Cervantes.

All the sessions of this project are directed by people with disabilities: Pascual Cervantes, Mar Dalmau, Sergio Llobell, Jorge Femenía, Carlos Bañuls and Jimmy Higueras. For the school year 2017-2018 the association has had the collaboration of the Department of Education and the Provincial Council of Alicante that have made it possible to expand and consolidate the project.

Indeed it is endearing that these students have been able to prove that the disability is not a frontier! That they have been able to share and enjoy together has enchanted me. The program has been a great initiative.

A great job they are doing with these people and their families. Let's help as we can
