The Kayak Fishing team of the Marina El Portet de Dénia Sports Club has participated in the Valencian Community Kayak Fishing Championship that was held in Alicante last Sunday. Alejo Francés won the silver medal in both the regional and provincial versions.
It should be remembered that this competition served to make it also a provincial, since it was canceled a few weeks ago due to the weather.
In total, there were seven club members who attended the test. It is necessary to mention José Juan González, better known as Soti, he was number eleven in the autonomous region and sixth in the provincial.
The negative point of the day occurred when Francisco José Piñero, Pachi, in his best moment of fishing, had a mishap when a boat from a sailing club in the area crossed the stern and pulled the rod, which left him without being able to continue fishing and with a significant scare.
The weather accompanied in the first hours of the championship, getting complicated already in the last hour, where the waves gave the occasional scare on the approach to the beach.
From the Dianense club they have thanked the work of the Alicante Kayak Fishing Club, the APK for its once again great organization and the Valencian Community Fishing Federation. The Dianense club also publicly congratulates the regional and provincial champion Juan Segovia, known as Juseto.
