The sailors of the Sport Club Marina El Portet Alejandro Climent and Kiko Peiró have won gold and silver, respectively, in the Autonomous Open of the Valencian Community of Formula Kite. The competition that was held in the Water Sport Center of Marina El Portet of Dénia, on the Raset beach, brought together 16 national and international participants who are considered the elite of the spectacular kite formula.
The test had two aspects, on the one hand the regional championship took place, where Simón Burner from Barcelona accompanied the Valencian Climent and the Dianense Peiró on the podium.
With respect to the appointment of the Open, the podium was completed by Climent, who was champion, followed also by Peiró, and the bronze was taken by Marius Pavel, from Castellón.
The sports competition began on Saturday with the first five races, where a wind of south / southwest component allowed Climent to overcome its own speed record and reach the 68 km / h. On Sunday the wind swept, however the other five sleeves of the autonomic could be completed with a north wind without problems.
The rest of the components of the CD Marina El Portet, Manuel Parra, Andrea Castelli, Rui Lages and the only female of the championship, Marta Sánchez, had an excellent performance.
The director of Marina El Portet, Luis Mira congratulated all the participants and especially the winners "We have experienced a whole sporting show this weekend here, in Dénia, by the hand of the kite formula, a discipline that will give a lot to talk about in the next Olympic games". Mira has remembered that "Marina El Portet will continue to support this sport and carry the name of the city throughout the territory at the hands of our sailors".
