AEHTMA stands out from the hoteliers who call to breach the restrictions and ask to comply with the established rules

February 10 from 2021 - 13: 21

Faced with the appeal made by a group of hoteliers from Castellón to break the Law by opening their establishments against the current legal prohibition, AEHTMA has wanted to distance itself from said initiative, and has recommended to all businessmen in the sector in the Marina Alta comply with the established standards, "as much as these may seem unfair".

"Since the beginning of the pandemic almost a year ago, we have been defending the interests of the hospitality industry on all fronts. At the institutional level, from the media and through concentrations and demonstrations in the street; but always within the stricter legality ", they point out from the association. "We have organized and attended demonstrations and other protest events at“ street level ”in our towns and cities Castellón, Valencia, Alicante and Madrid".

AEHTMA recalls that they continue to fight for a fair treatment of the hospitality industry, considering that this sector is being the most affected by the restrictions and closures decisions imposed by the Governments. "We have been unfairly identified as causing greater infections when there is no scientific evidence to prove it". In addition, they are pursuing a rescue plan that allows the sector to survive this situation. "This Plan has not reached the full extent that is necessary for its purpose, which is none other than helping all companies to cope with this crisis, continue creating wealth and generating employment," they underline from AEHTMA.

They insist that they will continue to claim these and other measures, but that they will do so within the law. The association believes that the opposite, removing the claims from the legal framework, can only worsen the situation and generate social conflict "wholly irresponsible". "As an employer we will never recommend to our associates that they stand outside the law and in positions of insubordination, which could lead to serious legal consequences".

"We call on the entire sector to continue fighting for it within the Law, with all the tools a Democratic State and the Law provides".
