650 rowers will compete in the Regatta of the Virgen de los Desamparados de Dénia

The Marina and Resort Marina Dénia hosts the VIII Llaüt Mediterrani Liga Suma Regatta – 34th edition of the Virgen de los Desamparados Trophy, which is held on Sunday, April 2. “It has already rained a bit since the Rowing Club started this important regatta for our area. Today we are presenting its 34th edition", commented Gabriel Martínez, director of Marina Dénia.

The regatta field will be located on the Marina Dénia promenade. The sleeves will begin at 8:30 in the morning and end at 13:30 p.m. 17 clubs from the Valencian Community will compete, from Valencia to Torrevieja, divided into the Infant, Cadet, Youth, Absolute and Veteran categories, both male and female. A distance of 1.400 meters will be traveled with three tacks, the Youth and Absolute categories and Cadets, Children and Veterans 700 meters with one tack. "The two veteran teams of our club, the men's and the women's, have a lot of pressure in this competition, we are going to see what happens next Sunday in Valencia", commented Michel Letellier, vice president of the Rowing Club.

The awards ceremony will take place at 15:650 p.m. and “we expect an influx of around XNUMX athletes. We will have a lot of atmosphere in the marina since it is before Easter and we hope that many people will come to cheer us on, ”said Vanessa Nicolau, treasurer of the Dénia Marina Rowing Club.

The regatta is organized by the Dénia Marina Rowing Club, with the collaboration of the Dénia City Council and Marina Dénia and the sponsorship of the Fundació Baleària, Pinautics, The Marine, restaurant Mena, Blue Garden Denia, Quique Dacosta Restaurants and Alucardona.
