5.448 school children, primary and secondary begin classes in Denia, La Xara and Jesus Poor

The school year began Monday in Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre "Perfectly normal", as indicated by the Councilor for Education, Rafa Carrió. A total of 5.448 students in Primary, Secondary and Secondary schools have been incorporated into the classrooms of the five public schools of Denia, the schools of Xara and Jesús Pobre, the three concerted and private centers in Denia and the three public institutes. In relation to the schooling figures of the last year, there is a decrease of 214 students in Infant and Primary and an increase of about 100 students in the Secondary cycle.
 

This year, the Cervantes and Llebeig public schools adhere to the continuous day, as did the Pou de la Muntanya last year and the Montgo.
 
The City Council of Dénia has carried out during the summer months maintenance and improvement work in the public centers of the city. Among these, the Councilor for Education has highlighted that in the Cervantes school has done an important work to remodel the toilets, changing the railing of access to the center and children's building, painting the facade and change the roof overhang and the Llebeig have removed the platforms in two classrooms, improving mobility.
 
In the Xara the school children begin their classes in prefabricated classrooms while waiting for the construction of the new center. During the weeks prior to the beginning of the course a double roof has been installed in the modules to avoid flood problems.


 
As for the progress of the construction of the new center of the Xara, Rafa Carrió informed that in a few days, the cession of the missing land will be formalized, so that the works could begin within a month. The basic project already has the approval of the Consell and in these days will be presented the one of execution.
 
Rafa Carrió has offered this information in the beginning of the course visit he has made this morning to the Montgó school, where he has visited two classrooms of first of Primary accompanied by the director of the center, Pep Pons, and the technique of the department of education, Mar Mayans.
