At 1956, the United Nations General Assembly recommended that all countries should be Universal Children's Day, which would devote itself to fraternity and understanding among children around the world and would be used for their own activities to promote the well-being of the children of the world.

The November 20 commemorates the date on which the General Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Rights of the Child in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. Therefore, the November 20 has become the Universal Children's Day and Girls.

More than ten years have passed since the Convention was approved and all the countries of the world (except the United States and Somalia) have ratified it, thus becoming Human Rights instrument most widely endorsed in the history of mankind.

Despite this fact, we know that unfortunately continue to be violated on a daily basis the rights of millions of children in all countries of the world and, therefore, all public and private institutions, on the one hand and civil society on the other, must respond to this challenge and continue fighting for the Convention to become a reality for the children of the world. For this mobilization of all society, both nationally and internationally, it remains a priority article 42 of the Convention, which commits States Parties' to make widely known the principles and provisions of the Convention by appropriate and active means, both adults and children '.

The Preamble to the Convention on the Rights of the Child:

• Remember the fundamental principles of the United Nations and specific provisions of certain treaties and declarations concerning human rights;
• Reaffirms the need to provide care children and special assistance because of their vulnerability;

Stresses in particular:
1. The primary responsibility of the family with respect to protection and assistance;
2. The need for legal protection and legal no children;
3. The importance of respect for the cultural values ​​of the child's community or girl;
