14 patrols of the local police in Dénia will monitor the public highway on Saturday to avoid crowds

02 July 2020 - 21: 19

The Local Police and the National Police of Dénia have established a special device with the aim of avoiding crowds on public roads next Saturday, July 4, the day that the Festa Major of Dénia 2020 would begin, suspended by the local government as a result of the health crisis caused by COVID-19.

That day the party starts at noon with the launch of the "Chupinazo" in the city center and it is tradition to meet to eat and celebrate the start of the celebration. For this reason, in anticipation that people continue to maintain the custom despite not having patron saint festivities, this device has been set up to ensure citizen security and avoid contagion situations.

The device provides for 4 surveillance patrols between 6 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Saturday, 5 patrols in the afternoon shift, from 14 to 22 p.m. and another 5 during the night, between 22 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday morning. To these troops are added two response units of the National Police, which is equivalent to 12 more agents.

The City Council of Dénia calls for citizen responsibility and recalls the obligation to use a mask in both public and private places - open and closed - in the event of not being able to guarantee the physical safety distance. Likewise, it is recalled that the consumption of alcohol or the emission of music without authorization is not allowed on public roads.
